For this infographic we’ve been thinking about spring (or the change in season), our ideas and projects—and what contributes to success. Then, inspired by St Patrick’s Day, we’ve combined this with the idea of creating our own luck. According to Wikipedia, St Patrick’s Day is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival, although of late it has received criticism for being commercialised and spreading negative stereotypes of the Irish.St Patrick’s day is a celebration of Irish culture and heritage as well as a commemoration of St Patrick himself. Importantly, on St Patrick’s Day the restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol for Lent were lifted—which explains why there is so much feasting and drinking on the day itself! It’s believed that the three lobed Shamrock leaf was used by St Patrick to explain the idea of the Holy Trinity to the pagans.Finally, did you know that at the end of St Patrick’s Day some people “wet the shamrock” by placing it at the bottom of a glass and making a toast?
