Fierce Kindness Survey Results – What You Told Us!

Dog Listening representing survey

In the recent Fierce Kindness survey, 270 of you kindly responded – so a BIG Thank-you to each and every one of you.

And we’ve listened!

I also know that many of you wanted to see the results – so here they are.

There were some key themes that came up and it’s always encouraging to see, underneath it all, how similar we are.

And while COVID infuses every area of our lives right now – there were only 2 specific mentions of COVID in the entire survey. I’m not sure what that means, but I thought it was interesting.

Here are the Survey Results:

Question 1: How fulfilled do you feel in life at present?

It seems like most of you feel reasonably fulfilled – the average score you gave out of 10 was 6.5. And it would be great if we were all at a 9 or 10 out of 10!

Question 2: What do you most want from life?

There are definitely some beautiful themes here. Below is also an image of the “word cloud” from all 270 answers.

And from my review of the individual responses, here are the top 7 themes:

  1. Making a difference, contributing and helping others
  2. Inner peace, ease, contentment, happiness and joy
  3. Meaningful relationships, love and belonging
  4. More life balance and self-care
  5. Find meaning and purpose
  6. Financial freedom and stability
  7. To be our authentic selves, follow our hearts

Question 3: What stops you from creating a more fulfilled and meaningful life?

Again, I’ve shared the official “word cloud” below, created from all 270 answers.

And then from a review of all the responses, here are the 8 main themes I noticed:

  1. Limiting beliefs and fear
  2. Lack of time, energy – overwhelm and busyness
  3. Self-judgement, lack of confidence
  4. Nothing
  5. Lack of direction, clarity and focus
  6. Prioritising other people over our selves
  7. Lack of motivation: inertia, self-doubt
  8. Finances

Question 4: What does Fierce Kindness mean to you?

Below I share the “word cloud” from all 270 of your answers. And there were definitely some themes – here’s what I noticed:

  • Honesty
  • Loving others no matter what
  • Tough love
  • Self-compassion
  • Placing our focus on kindness – and being intentionally kind
  • Being determined!

Question 5: How important is making a difference to you?

Our tagline is “Change the world, start with you!”  because contribution is an essential part of Fierce Kindness. Well, you’ve come to the right place – because it seems that making a difference is very important to you too!

And interestingly, while the average score you gave was 8.7 out of 10, the mode – the most common number typed in – was 10 out of 10!

Question 6: What would you love us to help you with?

Below is a colour-coded chart that shows the topics you selected. Please note that people were allowed to pick more than one, and this chart represents all those answers.

Unsurprisingly (to me anyway) is that managing our inner critic was the most chosen issue! This has also been my biggest life challenge – especially as I have stepped out of my comfort zone and followed my heart…

The Top 5 issues selected (with the words in full) are:

  1. Manage my INNER CRITIC or Judge.
  2. Get CLARITY, Set GOALS, focus and follow through to turn my dreams into reality.
  3. Find COMMUNITY/Create deeper and more meaningful RELATIONSHIPS.
  4. Be more CONFIDENT.
  5. Manage STRESS and OVERWHELM. Simplify, re-prioritize and find BALANCE.

Question 7: Who else do you follow for inspiration?

Well there was one main theme – the wonderful Brene Brown! Eckhart Tolle also made it onto the list a few times along with Tony Robbins and Mel Robbins. Other than that your selection of inspirational people was far and wide!

Wrap-up

Thank-you so much for your input and thoughts! I have listened, and will be using this information to shape and prioritise what I share with you going forwards.

And it’s wonderfully clear that making a difference is extremely important to our blog readers. Which means, not only that you are in the right place, but also:

You are the hope that our world needs right now!

We need people who can see the truth of what’s going on – both in the world and in themselves. And who are not just willing to – but are passionate about – making a difference.

If you have any thoughts to add, I’d love to hear them in the comments below.

Hi Emma, thank you for sharing these interesting survey results! I’m curious if you know what type of occupational groups are represented in your respondents? Ie. are many coaches, helping professionals? Thanks again! YOU are making a difference!

      Hi Lynda,
We didn’t ask for any personal/demographic data – but I would imagine there are quite a few coaches in the results! Sorry I can’t give you more specific information 🙂
      Warmly, Emma-Louise
