Some quick thoughts on life balance…

As I’m sure you already know, but it bears repeating in this busy world, life balance is rarely a state we achieve for long. Instead the key question to ask yourself is:

  • Am I moving towards, or away from, balance in my life?

The goal is not to “achieve” balance, but to be aware of how in (or out of) balance you’re feeling, and ensure that you’re moving in the right direction.

And hopefully, the tips below will help. And, of course, remember to be kind to you!

So check out this beautiful new life balance infographic with 11 great ideas to take care of you! Plus, as always, at the end of this article there’s a Fierce Kindness practice with journal prompts/questions to go deeper.

Here’s your Life Balance Infographic with 11 Fiercely Kind Strategies!

Wrap-up + A Fierce Kindness Practice

Fierce Kindness LogoA Fierce Kindness Practice to go Deeper

As you know, one of the core principles of Fierce Kindness is creating a deep connection with yourself. So:

  1. Consider which tip in the life balance infographic above:
    1. Most RESONATES with you?
    2. Most UNSETTLES you?
  2. The tip that most RESONATES with you is within your comfort zone. Great!
    • How can you do more of this?
  3. And the tip that most UNSETTLES you is an area for you to “stretch” into (after all we can’t grow without discomfort).
    • To go even deeper, keep this particular tip in mind over the next week, or perhaps write it out on a post it and carry it with you.
    • Then notice when this ‘unsettling’ tip applies in your life. For example: Do you find it hard to say no to others? Do you tend to ignore your feelings? Are you a perfectionist who spends far too much time finessing things?
    • Lastly, what are some IDEAS you’ve been having, of changes you could make in your life around this tip—however small?

What do you do that works? Comment and share your life balance tips!

I try to not “should” all over myself. When I find myself saying, “I should do this or that” I change the “should” to “could” and observe how that feels in my gut. Should is a requirement; could invites curiosity. If I find my gut saying “No! Don’t do it!” I try a breathing exercise to realign my mind, body and spirit before moving on.
